Engaging with parents during a child sexual abuse material (CSAM) investigation is critical to ensuring parent and child participation. This workshop will provide participants the skills to effectively engage with parents in a victim-focused manner while encouraging their involvement, and reducing any undue stress, harm or additional trauma to the parents or the child in this type of investigation.
Learning Objectives:
Prepare for meeting with parents or caretakers involved in CSAM investigations
Engage with parents in a non-victim blaming manner and ensuring that too much information is not shared too soon
Effectively communicating with parents or caretakers at the time of the interview.
