This case study will cover investigations by the Chesapeake Virginia Police Department (CPD), and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) of Jonathan Wilson, as well as the impact on his family, due to his activities involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and his hands on abuse of a four-year-old family member. The presentation will cover how the investigators connected Wilson through their independent investigations and identified him as a hands-on abuser and his subsequent arrest. Wilson’s activity included online uploads of CSAM to online groups, chatting with minors, the abuse of a minor family member, as well as communicating with other adults about his desire for them to get together to abuse the family member. The victim’s mother will then speak about her firsthand experience with law enforcement and the victim treatment process she encountered to help not only the victim but herself, in dealing with the aftermath of the discovery of Wilson’s abuse. Coincidentally, a big part of this process was conducted at the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center.
