Often working with minor children presents unique opportunities for social service professionals to navigate when considering ethical dilemmas. One's best efforts to support minor children along their journey to emerging adulthood has to take into consideration their varied experiences, presenting problems, and diverse developmental stages which results in countless ethical considerations that must be adhered to making a one size fits all approach to ethics impractical. By the end of the workshop, participants will gain a better understanding of consent/assent, ethical decision making, and harm prevention in their work with children and adolescents, along with practical strategies to apply in their professional roles.
