This presentation will explore new ways to understand the importance of wearable devices, cell phones, smart homes, and smart vehicles in crime scenes and the useful evidence they generate. The session will include examples showcasing IoT crime scenes and exhibits, showing how these interconnected devices can play a pivotal role in solving ICAC and trafficking cases. The participants will have a deeper understanding of the new scope of digital evidence and the unique opportunities this evidence provides in modern investigations. They will also learn how to access NW3C and Purdue University resources to further investigations. The presentation is intended to help a wide range of participants who can benefit from the information to solve crimes, help victims, present testimony, conduct interviews, and corroborate witnesses.
