Austin Police Department
Darrel Lambert is a detective with the Austin Police Department currently assigned to the Child Abuse Unit. He has been an officer for 16 years. For the past six years he has been a detective. Darrel has led investigations into robberies, aggravated assaults, and all types of incidents involving the physical and sexual abuse of children. He has conducted almost 200 suspect interviews involving over 350 hours in the interview room. He has trained detectives from other departments in interview and interrogation techniques. Darrel has presented at the Crimes Against Children Conference in 2022 and 2023. He has a bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University and is a TCOLE certified instructor.
