Sharon Cooper is a developmental and forensic pediatrician who has worked in the area of crimes against children, adolescents, and young adults since 1980. Her specific areas of expertise are within the realm of technology-assisted crimes against children, non-State torture, expert witness testimony, all aspects of sexual exploitation, and developmental/behavioral pediatrics. Dr. Cooper works closely with law enforcement and prosecutors in all forms of child maltreatment and provides trauma-informed care for survivors of violence. She works on several boards that focus on violence and abuse and participates as an advisor to multiple international agencies focused on international justice. She is the founder and CEO of the nonprofit foundation MACE, which focuses on mitigating the effects of Maternal Adverse Childhood Experiences.
