Laura Smith is a Detective in the CyberCrime Unit of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. She has been a law enforcement officer for 25 years. She is also a cross-designated Task Force Officer with the United States Secret Service. During the last 7 years of her career, her primary responsibility has been the investigation of child sexual abuse material, child exploitation and child solicitations. She has been an active member of the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force for 7 years. In addition to other training, Laura has presented at the National Crimes Against Children Conference in Atlanta, GA. She has been named IMPD’s Investigations Officer of the Year and received her Department’s Certificate of Commendation and a Unit Citation.
