FBI/Behavioral Analysis Unit - 3 Crimes Against Children
Joy Shelton joined the National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime (NCAVC) in 1999. Currently, she is a Crime Analyst within the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit - 3 Crimes against Children, a component of the NCAVC. She has served as the Principal Researcher and contributor for a variety of FBI research projects to include maternal filicide, intrafamilial child torture, suicide among child sex offenders, and residential child abduction. She has authored over 20 BAU academic articles and law enforcement publications on various crimes against children topics. In addition, she provides analytical and operational support for active investigations. Joy presents at a wide-variety of national training venues. She has also instructed at the FBI's National Academy at Quantico, VA.
