Akshay Java leads Child Safety Engineering for User Protections at Google, developing critical infrastructure and technology to detect and report Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) across Google products. His team also supports free tools like the Content Safety API, empowering organizations to combat child sexual abuse on their platforms. With a Ph.D. from UMBC and over 16 years of industry experience, Akshay, passionate about using technology for social good. He is an active volunteer for the Technology Coalition.
