Crime Analyst FBI/Behavioral Analysis Unit - 3 Crimes Against Children
This presentation discusses severe child maltreatment consistent with torture from a law enforcement perspective. An in-depth analysis of offender, victim and offense characteristics of this type of child abuse will be discussed through the findings from a recent study by the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU). Through case examples, the presenters will emphasize the need for a multi-disciplinary, specialized approach to intra-familial child torture (IFT) investigations due to their unique dynamics.
