In general, approximately 70% of all convicted sex offenders are placed on probation and remain in the community. Often in the processing of a case, especially ones with digital evidence, there are factors seen by law enforcement that are not evidentiary, but provide the courts and supervising/treatment agencies valuable information on how to safely contain and support the offender in the community. This workshop will cover these extra-evidentiary elements and provide examples of how they can be reported to the court and supervising/treating agencies.
Learning Objectives:
Identify extra-evidentiary elements when processing cases
Learn effective ways to communicate extra-evidentiary elements of cases to appropriate agencies
Examine how extra-evidentiary elements can assist "downstream" agencies in the justice system
